Salary Hike Amount Calculator

New salary = Current salary x (1 + hike% / 100). For example, if your current salary is ₹10 LPA and you get a 15% hike: new salary = ₹10L x 1.15 = ₹11.5 LPA. Monthly: ₹83,333 x 1.15 = ₹95,833/month. This calculator does the math instantly, including the 5-year projection at the same hike rate.

Your take-home increase is less than your salary increase because the hike also pushes you into higher tax territory. The calculator estimates net take-home increase using effective new-regime tax rates for your new salary band. As a rough guide: for salaries under ₹12.75 LPA (new regime tax-free zone), most of your hike translates to take-home. For salaries above ₹12.75 LPA, you keep roughly 75-85% of the hike as additional take-home (the rest goes to higher income tax).

Hike amount = Current salary x (hike% / 100). New salary = Current salary + Hike amount. For example, current = ₹8 LPA, hike = 20%: Hike amount = ₹8L x 0.20 = ₹1.6L. New salary = ₹8L + ₹1.6L = ₹9.6 LPA. Monthly hike = ₹1.6L / 12 = ₹13,333/month.

Your salary compounds with each hike, so after 5 years of 10% annual hikes: Year 1 = Current x 1.10, Year 2 = Current x 1.21, Year 3 = Current x 1.33, Year 4 = Current x 1.46, Year 5 = Current x 1.61. Hikes above 100% (doubling your salary) are uncommon in annual appraisals but do happen with role changes, lateral moves to a new company, or promotions from junior to senior level in startups. This calculator allows hike percentages up to 1000% for such scenarios. A note appears when the hike exceeds 100% to help you verify the input. That said, a 50-100% hike is more typical in competitive job offers.
